MEET THE WRITER

Mary Haviland

Thanks for coming to my blog! I am Mary Haviland and I major in Media Studies and Production at Mongomery County Community College. Some of my earliest memories are of watching Universal Studios monster movies. Being exposed to classic cinema gave me an appreciation for it and I find it fascinating seeing how a film’s modern interpretations compare to it's earlier versions.
I decided to begin this blog in light of what seems to be the age of remakes. How do these new versions stack up against the originals? Have they missed key points of the story? Have they added to it? These are the questions I seek to answer here.
